@Clematis 'Etoile Rose' and 'Emilia Plater' are also the oldest clematises in my garden. I ordered them from the clematis
nursery for the first time almost 20 years ago. Now Emilia's base of the
tree is 4 centimeters in diameter.
@I hope they will bloom healthfully and strongly in the years ahead.
@The garden in front of the garden shed is the clematis garden as well
as the rose garden. In the rose season, clematises bloom well with the
roses. As for the roses I have a tendency to choose soft color ones. However,
I'm surprised to see the photos. What colorful clematises there are in
my garden!
Though they are so abundant in the season, in winter most of their stems
wither, so we don't have to prepare for the snow for them. Easy to grow
and beautiful! They are must plants in my garden.
@Clematis 'Milky Way' blooms on the wall behind 'Princess Alexandra of
Kent.' Can you see it behind? I cannot take the photo of them together
well.
@Princess of Alexandra of Kent looks beautiful together with clamatis 'Milky
Way' and Astrantia major 'Roma.'

The rose of the red garden is ER Tess of the Dubervilles.
The companion plants are a smoke tree with the bronze leaves, a bronze
fennel, an ajuga and a heuchera with red leaves, etc.
@Red roses don't match well in the old rose garden, so I planted them separately
in the red garden.
@ER Tess of the Duvervilles is a healthy good rose with abundant flowers.
I love the novel "Tess of the Duvervilles" written by Thomas
Hardy. That's another reason why I love the rose!

@ It was a surprise! My husband brought back home an old sewing machine
stand. I was so happy to imagine how to use it. I changed the gravel path
into the brick one of the honey color and painted the old wood to make
a wall. At last there appeared a new sewing machine area behind the red
garden
@The red garden also looks nice against a background of antique goods.
@At the entrance of the garden shed, I planted Ghislaine de Feligonde 3
years ago as a garden shed welcome rose. It became taller and looked nice
this year.
The flowers bloomed well and beautifully. It is so elegant and gorgeous
with cream yellow flowers with orange touch.
@The path to the garden shed is gravelled. I have an idea of changing it into the brick path in the future. In the flower season, I don't mind the gravels since there are so many flowers on both sides. I don't have to change?@I walk the path making a gravel sound, and I think it sounds nice and countrified?!
ER@Gentle Hermione
The roses in the sewing machine area are Raubritter and Laura Ashley. Both
roses look so antique!
At the foot of the stand, there are Adiantum pedatum and Athyrium niponicum,
and a hosta.
On the stand, the potted succulent plants and Heuchera.

@It has a long shoot of 2 meters. It blooms in summer and a little in autumn.@It is so strong and healthy in such an area, the north side of my garden.Yet
how cute the flower is!
@It blooms as an orange flower at the beginning, then it changes into the
apricot, then becomes cream and white.Every color is so charming.@

@At the entrance of the gravelled path, there is Clematis 'Princess Diana,'
which I planted 3 years ago. I have the other rose color clematis, Clematis
Etoile rose. Both of them are my favorite!
@The entrance area became colorful thanks to the Princess Diana!

@Clematises are here and there in my garden. "Grow clematises in your
garden. They are good companion plants for roses, since not only they bloom
at the same time, but also the disease are same." Since I read the
phrase in the English gardening magazine, I have been planted so many clematises.
They bloom well even in the cold summer, when roses don't bloom well.
@There are Clematises of the blue color, though roses don't have the blue
flowers.
I dream a romantic color garden with pink roses and blue clematises.
Clematis 'Milky Way'
@I planted Clematis 'Milky Way' 3 yaears ago. I fell in love with it seeing
the catalogue.
How gently milky it is! Integrifolia group clematis.

ER 'Princess of Alexandra of Kent'
@Clematis x durandii has a deep blue color of the sea.It is a good companion
plant with soft pink color roses.
ER Mortimer Sackler matches well with the Clematis x durandii. It grows
well even in Hokkaido, where most of the climbing roses don't grow well.
@The place they are growing is also a working area, where I walk frequently
to do the gardening. However, I stop to see them feeling happy counting
the flowers one by one in the season.

@My husband laid tiles on the entrance floor in June. When a famous gardner
visited us for the first time at the end of June, he was still laying tiles.
At the beginning of July, when the rose season became at its height, the
laying tile work finished!
I'm so happy to see the flower pots and the flower frame (I painted) look
nice on the tiled floor.
@Beside the pergola area in the west main garden, there is an obelisk of Fantin Latour. The color, flower shape of Fantin Latour is the same image as I imagine as an old rose. The fragrance is a typical old rose frangrance, I imagine.
Fantin Latour
@There is a yellow garden in front of the garden s. English rose, Teasing
Georgia blooms beautifully in .the yellow garden every year.
It begins to bloom with a beautiful flower shape and the fragrance of myrrh.
I chose this every year as one of the best rose and this year, too!
@
ER@Gentle Hermione
@ER Gentle Hermione is always my favorite. It blooms in the border garden
in front of the garden shed.
@The fragrance, flower shape, and color of Gentle Hermione is perfect and pure like the Queen Hermione of 'The Winter's Tale' by Shakespeare.
@There is a bumper harvest of roses this year! I'd like to say so thanks
to the good weather.
Every year from the end of May to the early June, we have the cold season,
Lilac chill we call. It is an important season for roses to shoot forth
buds. When the Lilac chill is too cold, roses don't come into bud, or it
has blind shoots. However, the Lilac chill was not chill this year, it
was gently warm.
Even in the flower season, from the end of June and to the beginning of
July, the weather was nice without heavy rain. It was a rose weather, I
may say!
@Please enjoy the rose harvest garden!

@ @The weather was warm and nice in the 2019 season. It was good for us to
do the DIY works for new areas in our garden.
@The first area was made with an old sewing machine stand, which my husband
found and brought back home. The moment I saw it, I had many ideas. Please
see my sewing machine area, which I enjoyed making, changing the gravelled
path into the brick one and painting the old wood.
The entrance area changed a little, too. My husband covered the entrance
floor with tiles of the brick color. The flower pots look nice on the nice
new tiles!
@Thanks to the good weather, the flowers bloomed beautifully in this season.
Roses, clematis, tree flowers, and other flowers.
Please enjoy the 2019 season of my garden!
@Before Clematis 'Etoile Rose' and 'Emilia Plater' bloom, the oldest rose of my garden, Alba 'Maxima' blooms on the east wall. I love every scene.
